Goin’ to the chapel and we’re gonna get married! There’s something charming and quaint about small town chapel weddings ~ old-fashioned white steeples centering the town and ready to ring the church bells, rows of wooden pews eagerly waiting to be filled with only your closest friends and family, warm sunlight peering through gorgeous stained glass windows, and perfectly manicured lawns and cute courtyards. For couples looking for an adorable and affordable wedding chapel near Portland, OR, Hubbard Chapel is the place! Situated directly between Portland and Salem in the small town of Hubbard, Oregon, the chapel offers the small town, country feel in a convenient and easy location for your chapel wedding.
Portland wedding florist, Flowers by Alana was honored to be asked to collaborate with a group of talented Portland wedding vendors last fall for a chapel wedding inspired styled shoot at the Hubbard Chapel. We chose romantic and vintage for the overall style and the color palette of white, antique whites, champagne, greys, and moody reds. The typical overcast day in the northwest was perfect for the moody vibe of our chapel wedding styled shoot.
Several photographers captured the magic of the day, but all images in this post are by the talented Portland wedding photographer Emily Skye Photography. The shoot was planned by Grace Roth of Acute Lens Photography and Events (who was also the bride model with her beau Taylor) and coordinated by talented Portland wedding planner Krystle Allen of Krystle Clear Events. Grace and Krystle carefully curated vintage décor details like brass vessels and goblets, vintage tableware and dessert platters, and a copper ceremony arbor by the Portland rental company Power of Love Rentals.
Grace wore a vintage-inspired lace wedding gown by Portland bridal gown store A and Bé Bridal Shop, and Taylor wore a groom’s suit from Express. Accompanying our bride and groom couple were best man and maid of honor models, Daniel and Sara. Sara runs Sara’s Baking Creations, a custom cake and dessert baker who supplied a gorgeous and delicious wedding cake, cookies, and other desserts for the shoot at Hubbard Chapel. We also had hand-crafted donuts from the Donut Bar in Monmouth, a donut food cart company available for event catering.
Makeup and hair for our models were beautifully done by the talented bridal makeup artist Morgan Nichols, and talented wedding stationer Karin Webster of Blue Bonsai Printing created gorgeous wedding invites and other paper goods with romantic floral details.
Flowers by Alana designed bridal party florals, a ceremony arbor installation, and reception florals for the fireplace mantle, bridal party table, and dessert area in the moody, romantic palette of white, champagne, beige, sage green, deep reds, grey, and blues. For flowers, we chose lush romantic roses, garden roses, peonies, spray roses, eryngium, agonis, eucalyptus, and dark privet berries.
