Last Summer Portland wedding florist Flowers by Alana had the honor and absolute pleasure designing florals for an incredibly gorgeous boho glam wedding at the Creekside Estate in SW Washington, just outside Portland, Oregon. Professional photography was by the talented wedding photographer Baylee Dennis Photography. Wedding planning and coordinating was by Sapphire and Opal Events.
Last wedding season, we saw the continuation of bohemian (aka boho) aesthetic as a trending style in home decor and design, and weddings were no exception. Boho (or bohemian) style can be described as eclectic and free-spirited, intentionally mismatching textures and textiles, natural materials, and often incorporates vintage elements. The boho color palette usually embraces earth tones and neutral colors like whites, beige, and terra cotta. The boho glam wedding style brings the relaxed and casual energy of the boho style, but adds a refined and glamourous luxury vibe. Boho glam weddings often mix dried and fresh florals in earthy neutrals, but also bring in shiny and glittering metals like copper and gold, or diamonds and crystals for pops of luxury.
For Daneille and Scott’s boho glam wedding at Creekside Estate, we opted for a mostly white and beige floral palette with touches of dusty rose and mauve, to match the rose gold and copper decor elements throughout their wedding. We used little to no greenery and designed beautiful, luxurious floral-heavy arrangements in specialty roses, orchids, king protea, white limonium, and pampas grass. For the bridal party, Portland wedding florist Flowers by Alana designed a cascading boho glam bridal bouquet for the bride Daneille, and smaller matching boho inspired bridesmaid bouquets. Daneille’s boho glam wedding bouquet was large and full of fully bloomed white escimo, quicksand, and amnesia roses, white limonium, king protea, and white phalaenopsis orchids. Her bridesmaids wore different shades of rose gold colored dresses and carried boho inspired bouquets made with roses in white, blush, and dusty rose tones, a touch of eucalyptus greenery, white limonium, and a small dried palm frond.
Portland wedding florist Flowers by Alana designed boho glam wedding florals for outdoor wedding ceremony space at Creekside Estate. We designed a large floral installation on the top left corner of the Creekside Estate‘s wooden arbor, incorporating different textures of dried pampas grass, plus king protea, specialty roses and orchids in white, beige, and dusty rose. In the center of the wooden ceremony arbor hung a gorgeous chandelier made of Swarovski crystal, beautifully bringing in the glamorous luxury vibes to the boho glam wedding.
We scattered white rose petals down the aisle, and also lined the wedding ceremony aisle with boho inspired arrangements of eucalyptus and extra large fluffy pampas grass in large glass jugs. Pampas grass is a popular touch for a bohemium inspired wedding. Flowers by Alana also designed a large floral arrangement on a wine barrel at the head of the aisle made with a mixture of dried and fresh florals with the intention of boho glam wedding style.
Daneille and Scott’s reception had a mixture of round and rectangle tables, each dressed in ivory linens and donned copper chargers, clear table numbers, rose gold candlesticks holding taupe colored tall taper candles, and an intentional mismatch of various shapes, colors and sizes of bud vases in the boho glam wedding palette. Portland wedding florist Flowers by Alana filled the bud vases with boho glam inspired arrangements of roses, spray roses, orchids, and pops of dried boho inspired floral textures.
