Portland wedding florist Flowers by Alana and a team of northwest wedding professionals brought to life a timeless modern wedding last summer at the Tin Roof Barn in White Salmon, Washington. A timeless modern wedding in a warm neutral palette was the vision of the beautiful bride, Amity. Achieving a timeless modern wedding style requires a few key design elements, which her wedding team executed beautifully. Timeless modern weddings are sophisticated by nature, with clean and intentional details that work during any season and withstand the change in wedding trends year by year. Amity and Parker chose amber, ivory, terra cotta and peach with black and white as their timeless modern wedding palette. The sophistication of black and white, combined with warm and romantic, earthy tones created a timeless modern wedding vibe without going too rustic or too boho. The modern and romantic palette created a color story that truly complemented the natural aesthetic of the Tin Roof Barn, with its exposed wood, lush greenery landscaping, and abundance of natural light.
The Tin Roof Barn is an exceptionally charming wedding venue nestled in the rolling hills and abundant landscape of the Columbia River Gorge. The Washington wedding venue offers both indoor and outdoor areas essential for weddings: an outdoor fireplace and bar, both expansive fields and wooded areas, quaint quarters for the wedding party to get ready, an outdoor ceremony cite flanked with an abundantly lush greenery arbor, and its namesake ~ an exquisitely beautiful 100-year-old tin roof wooden barn that has maintained its turn of the century authenticity and charm. Tin Roof Barn is the perfect wedding venue for a timeless modern wedding.
Amity wore an ivory gown and Parker wore a black and white suit, while their large bridal party of 8 bridesmaids and 8 groomsmen wore all black. Amity’s clean, modern and sophisticated bridal gown with its square neckline, scooped back, and pleated train was from Portland bridal boutique True Society by the White Dress from the Martina Liana collection. Parker’s white and black suit was from The Black Tux. Sophisticated and classic, black and white is a perfect bridal party palette for a timeless modern wedding.
For Amity’s bridal bouquet, Portland wedding florist Flowers by Alana designed a romantic hand-tied bridal bouquet in the warm neutral wedding palette, using cream and terra cotta colored specialty roses, peach garden roses and ranunculus, dark brown agonis, and other foliage. The groom’s attendants wore white spray rose boutonnieres, while the bridesmaids each wore wristlets in the warm neutral bridal palette in lieu of carrying bridesmaid bouquets. Flowers by Alana designed large wine barrel floral arrangements for the ceremony entrance that were later moved to greet guests entering the barn at the reception. We intentionally left the ceremony altar without flowers, giving the spotlight to the natural lush greenery already in place at the venue.
The reception barn is where more of the intentional details of the timeless modern wedding details came to life. Long, wooden family style tables each topped with a cream colored chiffon runner, white taper candles with black or bronze candlesticks, and a variety of bud vase florals in amber vessels. Both modern and vintage decor elements blended together for the timeless modern wedding tablescape, such as vintage China plates and wine goblets, paired with clean modern champagne flutes and black linen napkins. For Amity and Parker’s sweetheart table, Portland wedding florist Flowers by Alana designed a romantic table centerpiece in a vintage compote urn, and down the length of each guest table were a variety of simple modern minimalist style bud vase florals in amber apothecary bottles. Behind the sweetheart table, Flowers by Alana designed a floral installation with Italian ruscus, terra cotta and peach roses, and white Phalaenopsis orchids accentuating a barn window that brings in the most beautiful natural light and created a romantic background for the newlyweds at their wedding reception. The entire vibe was definitely a timeless modern wedding dream!
